Kshirsagar et al. [14] have proposed a multi-layered approach including high-level description of emotion intensity over time, mid-level configuration of static facial expressions, and low-level FAPs definitions. However, there are few quantitative results on explicit mapping between emotion dimension such as PAD, and low-level facial expression parameters such as MPEG-4 FAPs [11]. In this paper, a layered framework is proposed to synthesize facial expression using PAD emotional parameters for a Chinese expressive talking avatar.

The verbal content is identical and animations can be distinguished only by the facial behaviour of the agent. Our intention is to demonstrate that facial behaviour is different in Model of Facial Expressions Management for an ECA 19 different social contexts.
